Waar gaat Elkhorn over?
Theodore Roosevelt is op weg naar grootsheid - hij is afgestudeerd aan Harvard uit een vooraanstaande familie, een opkomende politicus, en zijn vrouw, Alice, is zwanger. Dan wordt zijn veelbelovende toekomst tragisch. Zijn moeder bezwijkt aan tyfus en Alice sterft op dezelfde dag in het kraambed. Verwoest verlaat Teddy zijn stedelijke wereld van hoogbouw en high society voor het desolate Dakota-gebied, waar hij, door de harde realiteit van het leven aan de grens van Amerika onder ogen te zien, van plan is zichzelf om te vormen tot iets groters.

What should be a joyful celebration turns ugly when Paddock decides it’s time to settle old scores with the Elkhorn crew. The dance is also Wilmot’s best chance to propose marriage to Rosie, but her heart is torn between a simple life as Wilmot’s wife and a more alluring future as Medora’s protégée. With the Elkhorn ranch secured for the winter under the watchful eye of Merrifield, Roosevelt returns to New York to be reunited with his daughter.
