Waar gaat Rail Wars! over?
We bevinden ons in een parallelle wereld waarin de Japanse spoorwegen niet zijn geprivatiseerd. Naoto Takayama is een middelbare scholier en droomt van een comfortabele toekomst als werknemer van de eersteklas Japanse Nationale Spoorwegen. Hij wordt als stagiair toegewezen aan de spoorwegbeveiliging, een verzameling rare figuren, zoals Sakurai, die niet tegen mannen kan.

The engine that will pull their train to Tokyo is the KiHa 381, equipped with a pendulum-style, diesel-fueled gas turbine engine. Shortly after they depart, Naoto hears a strange sound and can't shake the feeling that something isn't right.
